Unlicensed Practitioners
In Ohio it is a felony to practice medicine without a license. Licensed Massage Therapists, in Ohio, fall under the Ohio Medical Board and are, in fact, a limited branch of medicine. If a person does not have a license from the medical board, they are prohibited from doing therapeutic massages. They may not refer to themselves as a "Massage Therapist" or use "LMT" (Licensed Massage Therapist) after their name.
All of the credential entries for our licensed massage therapists (above) have a link to the Ohio State Medical Board's database where you can review the current standing of their license.
In The Bag Massage adheres strictly to all federal, state, and local laws, especially when it concerns licensing restrictions. At the same time, we recognize talented individuals who have not yet had an opportunity to "sit for the boards." For example, they may have just finished their formal schooling and are waiting for the next semi-annual exam cycle to roll around. So, from time to time, we will bring aboard Massage Practitioners.
In no way do we say that you will receive a therapeutic massage from a practitioner. We will say that the practitioners have the same level of talent, education, and training as our licensed therapists.
Each LMT or practitioner has to demonstrate complete knowledge expected of them and give April (our owner) a full body massage before they're allowed to touch a customer at In The Bag Massage. Our hiring standards are the highest in the industry. 60% of applicants to In The Bag Massage are NOT good enough work for us.
We believe your experience with a practitioner will be as enjoyable, even though, legally, the session can only be considered a relaxation massage.
Reduced Rate Sessions
For a limited time after we hire new Licensed Massage Therapists and practitioiners, all of their massages are offered at reduced rates. This gives our customers an opportunity to get a massage at a lower price and hopefully find a new "favorite."
New Licensed massage therapists' appointments are all offered at the introductory $39 rate and new practitioners' appointments are on sale for $30 each.
